I was commisioned to design a costume using the 'Water for Elephants' film as inspiration.
After some fabric and bead samples, we came up with the below.
I love the draping straps, which actually also hide some really firm straps to keep this backless bodysuit close and secure.
It has a modesty sash, to ensure freedom of movement without being self conscious, and of course lots of pearls beads - I wanted to keep them hemming close to the era to give it a 1920's feel. There are also a few AB crystals, which can't be seen to easily at a glance, but will catch the light nicely as the client moves around.
This was a really lovely little project to do. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
A whopping 120 shows! in 3 continents - Europe, Asia and the Arab Emerates. 5 countries, which include Hong Kong, Dubai, Bahrain, Brussels and the UK. 4 new acts, 1 abandoned act (fortune telling gypsy) 2 new performance skills, hula hoop and fire! 2 residencies in Dubai and the UK. 3 theatres. You can't beat performing in a theatre, it's absolutely lovely. 3 videos, all with Kaya George, 2 in the snow and 1 up a mountain in Greece!
Not to mention all the feather fans I have made, and costume and headdress commissions.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved. From stage kittens, to friends doing endless favours for me, to promoters flying me out to places such as Bahrain! I am very grateful for all of it, and wish everyone the best of luck in the new year xxxxx
